Vibrant Colours at Sunrise on Seven Mile Beach

Vibrant Colours at Sunrise on Seven Mile Beach

Sometimes a good sunrise catches me out and sometimes I’m ready. On this occasion I was on the beach an hour beforehand, had the drone set up and ready to go when needed, got the GoPro on the dunes running a timelapse and set-up the Canon on the beach for long exposures and dune shots. Not always this organised, but it’s really nice when you’re ready. Sunrise colours were awesome with some great back-lighting of the high clouds.

Location

Shoalhaven Heads Beach is towards the southern end of Seven Mile Beach, just before the start of the old Shoalhaven River mouth. It’s a fairly wild bit of beach as they go, but you can capture some great shots by including the arc of the beach heading north and south.
