Strong Winds and Strong Colours for a Winter Sunrise on Seven
When I checked the cloud forecast for this morning’s sunrise (before I went to bed) it didn’t look very promising, so I had a second bourbon and coke and didn’t set the alarm. However I was not destined to have a lie-in because one of our cats decided to piss all over the sofa-bed in the lounge and I was woken up at 6:30am by Catherine shouting at said cat who had decided to empty his bladder right in front of her. As I was rubbing the sleep out of my eyes I saw some colour in the sky and realised sunrise was actually going to be a good one. So I hopped in the car and drove to the beach and it was indeed a nice sunrise. And all it cost was one ruined sofa-bed.

Location
Shoalhaven Heads Beach is towards the southern end of Seven Mile Beach, just before the start of the old Shoalhaven River mouth. It’s a fairly wild bit of beach as they go, but you can capture some great shots by including the arc of the beach heading north and south.
