Slow Burning Sunset and a Surprise Moon

Nice mixture of high and medium level cloud last night held a bit of promise last night. The skies shone gold before sunset and then red highlights afterwards, but it fizzled out fairly quickly. The sand flies obviously got the memo about the changing of the seasons because I copped it on the legs – time to roll out the Bushmans once more!

Hey pellie-friend, where you headed?

My favourite shot of the evening, lovely reflections in the river estuary looking south.

Sun sinks down behind the flanks of Mount Coolangatta.

There’s the red.

Through the zoom looking down towards the public wharf as the sun disappears.

Bonus moon shot. I’d forgotten the moon was full and only noticed on the drive home. Quick diversion to the beach caught a shot before it disappeared into a cloud bank offshore.
