Rainbow Clouds, An Extremely High Tide and Blood Red Skies

I spied some cool looking clouds on the satellite map and decided to go and photograph the sunset at Gerroa. It was very windy and quite chilly but the good thing about that was I had the entire beach to myself. Which, (as those of you who have read my article about my Aspergers will know) is just the way I like it! In the end the wind had reset the beach and there turned out to be ice crystals in the very high clouds which gave rainbows in the cloudbase. Very cool.

Location

Seven Mile Beach at Gerroa is my β€˜go to’ beach as it’s a short drive from my house and offers a flexible number of landscapes in one small area. You can shoot on the beach, on the reserve by the boat ramp, over the rocks behind Crooked River or round the corner at Black Head.

Thanks for sharing your wonderful sunset/cloud glory photos. I especially enjoy them as I can’t get out and about easily due to a weak leg n foot.
