There’s a certain mood to a sunrise on Seven Mile Beach and when there’s high cloud to get backlit by the rising sun it’s a special experience. I quite often position myself in the dunes at the back of the foreshore and shoot through the dune grass to provide a sort of window on the scene.
I took this photograph in August 2017. It’s a single exposure, captured on my 10-22mm wide angle lens at 22mm and f8. As I was shooting handheld the ISO was set to 1250 which adds a grain to the image which I have left in as I feel it enhances the feel of the image.
