The south coast is lucky enough to have many little inlets, creeks, lakes and waterways dotted all the way down the coastline. One of the larger bodies of water is Lake Conjola which is located just to the south of Jervis Bay. It’s a popular location with watersports enthusiasts (particularly wake-boarders and water-skiers) and fishermen and it offers the best of both worlds since it has Conjola Beach at one end of the lake.
I took this shot in the dunes looking across to Green Island and Cunjorong Point in the later summer of 2016. This location has become very well known internationally due to the bushfires of 2019/2020 which destroyed many properties in the village of Lake Conjola.
