As I always do – I checked the forecast, the cloud cover and the radar a couple of hours before sunset. This revealed a line of storms heading towards the coast from inland with one storm cell heading directly at me. So I hopped in the car and drove to Shoalhaven Heads in ordero to photograph its approach. It turned out to be a dramatic sunset which didn’t bring much in the way of lightning bolts but did drop some rain. Then after the storm had passed overhead it was only 30 minutes until sunset, so I hung around to see if there would be some colour and was treated to a flame-like sky.
