Dolphins at First Light on Seven Mile Beach

I checked the forecast before going to bed, as I always do, and the prospects for sunrise looked pretty shit. However I’ve been unwell and hadn’t been out for sunrise for over a week and so I decided to go anyway. Sometimes you just need to decide to go and then go. And the forecast was pretty spot on – lots of medium and low level cloud, but there was a thin lick of golden light on the horizon which added some drama to proceedings. About three minutes before sunrise itself a pod of dolphins appeared from the south, tracking northwards up the beach. This was a welcome arrival and it was great to see them lazily swimming in the waves.

For the last 16 years I’ve been photographing, blogging (and more recently vlogging) about everything I find, see and enjoy here in South Coast, New South Wales. This is my blogging site focused on my hobby (and part-time job) of photography. Please enjoy my little writing and my photography and I’d love to hear your feedback.
