Well now, the forecast was for a burner sunrise and so I decided to go somewhere special to photograph it. I hadn’t been to Hyams this year because I hate crowds and it’s far and away the most popular beach in Jervis Bay, if not the Shoalhaven. But the tourists have left until the spring and so I found myself the first car in the carpark and the first person on the beach for the day. The sunrise was everything we hoped it would be – glorious long-lived smouldering skies and I greatly enjoyed photographing it all with my DSLR and my drone.
