luesky has picked up a fair amount of traction with 32million user accounts on the alt-social media platform in its first year. It’s dwarfed by Instagram and Twitter of course, let’s not kid ourselves, but the signs are that this platform – above all of the other alternatives to the billionaire-owned services – stands the best chance of reaching critical mass.
The problem is that Bluesky is a micro-blogging platform – a direct alternative to Twitter, not Instagram – and you therefore get a lot of non-photography related posts in your Bluesky feed.
That all changes from today, with the launch of Flashes – the first Bluesky app built specifically to provide an alternative to Instagram.
