First Sunset of 2021 – Nothing But Gold Skies For Me
Hard to imagine a greater contrast in conditions between the start of 2020 and the start of 2021. This time last year an area the size of England was being consumed by fire and the south coast region watched on in horror as the worst fires of a generation, stoked by climate change, devastated the landscape and entire communities. This year it has been raining for weeks, with barely a hint of blue sky in between. But nobody is complaining, believe me! I headed out on the heels of a thunderstorm in the hope of colourful skies at Gerroa and was rewarded with molten gold …
Seven Mile Beach at Gerroa is my ‘go to’ beach as it’s a short drive from my house and offers a flexible number of landscapes in one small area. You can shoot on the beach, on the reserve by the boat ramp, over the rocks behind Crooked River or round the corner at Black Head.
