Electrical Storm and Lightning Strikes on the Shoalhaven River

While electrical storms here inevitably mean a power cut of some sort, I do like photographing them. In this case I headed down to the river and set up the camera on the passenger seat of the car with the window down. The door and seat got pretty damp but the camera remained dry.

If you’d like to take photographs of lightning one of the easiest ways is to use long exposures (30 seconds or more) which saves you having to quickly press the button when lightning strikes.
