Dolphins, Surfers, Jet-Skis and Fishermen at Sunset on Black Head

The restricted airspace here in the Shoalhaven is royal pain in the arse as it heavily restricts the times that you can (legally) fly a drone. Weekends are fine, but you know how it works – often it’s great all week and then as soon as Friday arrives, the weather goes to shit. So when it’s the weekend and the weather’s good I always try and make the effort to get the Mavic 2 Pro up in the air. So on Saturday evening, with great conditions and only a very light breeze, I parked up at Black Head Reserve in Gerroa to photograph the sunset from on the ground and up in the sky.

Location

Black Head Reserve is the spit of land that projects out into the ocean at the northern end of Seven Mile Beach. There’s a grassy area here where you can chill out or you can walk down onto the rock shelf to go fishing or, you know, take photographs.
