Angry Skies and Angry Seas at Gerroa

I’d been meaning to photograph some long exposure shots with my Mavic 2 Pro drone for a while now. I bought a set of PolarPro ND filters for it which enable me to shoot longer exposures up in the air. With a big swell impacting the east coast the weekend seemed like the ideal time to try it, so I headed out to the rock shelf at Black Head in Gerroa. I also had an eye on the sky and was pretty sure we’d get some good sky colour too – and that was definitely the case.

Location

Black Head Reserve is the spit of land that projects out into the ocean at the northern end of Seven Mile Beach. There’s a grassy area here where you can chill out or you can walk down onto the rock shelf to go fishing or, you know, take photographs.
