Sometimes you just need to have a bit of faith in your sky-watching abilities. I checked the satellite images and could see that there was a gap a long way south (almost at The Victorian border in fact) but with such high level clouds there was still a good chance they’d colour up. I also knew that the colour would arrive much later than usual. And so it came to be. After ages waiting for the blues to give way to oranges, the sky started to pop.
Seven Mile Beach at Gerroa is my ‘go to’ beach as it’s a short drive from my house and offers a flexible number of landscapes in one small area. You can shoot on the beach, on the reserve by the boat ramp, over the rocks behind Crooked River or round the corner at Black Head.
