Which Photography Apps I Actually Use on my iPhone

A
pple’s decision to include a camera and a clever touchscreen camera app in the original iPhone was a genius move that changed photography forever, and developers were not slow in recognising the possibilities it opened up.

If you cast your mind back to those early days of the iPhone there were myriad quirky apps promising a weird array of effects from multi-shots to pinhole camera emulation.

These days the focus is more on the development side of photography as opposed to the actual process of taking a photo, with seemingly thousands of AI face retouching apps designed to appeal to the duck-face selfie crowd.

And over the years my own obsession with testing all the weird and wonderful apps has calmed and I’m now fairly well settled on a core of apps that I use on a regular basis. This then, is my real-world iPhone app load out – if it’s in here then it’s recommended.

Android users – about half of my choices are available on Android devices as well and I have indicated where that is the case.
