My Alternative to Chin-Stroking Landscape Photography

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TK9dHhIvX-o

Many of the landscape photographers on YouTube seem to have a different photographic approach to me. They spend a lot of time contemplating their compositions and come away from an entire day with just a few images on the SD card. The inference seems to be that the only way to ‘make’ a landscape photograph that is artistic and not a snapshot, is to spend most of your time thinking about it and very little time actually taking photographs. That style of deep-thought photography has never appealed to me, I don’t find it fun, or productive and when I have tried it I don’t find the images any better or worse than when I just enjoy myself and take as many shots as I want. I strongly believe that there’s no right or wrong way to go about your landscape photography and so in this video I try and explain my alternative to chin-stroking photography.
